While looking for some fun games to add to the kid’s Easter Baskets this year, I stumbled upon this set of Toddler Scavenger Hunt Cards. I figured why not throw them in the basket and worst case scenario the kids forget about them and they live happily ever after in the bottom of the stroller. Boy was I wrong, they were a hit! The kids spent the entire weekend exploring the beach and scouring the shore for anything and everything that they could find in their cards. From that weekend on, these cards accompanied us on every walk, park trip, car ride, etc. You name it, we brought them!
I love how much this deck of cards encourages the kids to be adventurous and explore the world around them. They have so much fun trying to find everything they can and doing each little challenge on the bottom of each card. The game really pushes the kids to be more aware of what is going on around them and leads them to be more curious about what is going on in their environment. It’s fun to watch them observe the world around them while out and about. They are way more interested in exploring the neighborhood and park whenever we bring the cards out on our walks.
These cards also foster language development and expand children’s vocabulary. Oliver has had a huge increase in his vocabulary while playing along with these cards and does a great job trying to describe the pictures on each one. The vivid and whimsical illustrations capture the kid’s attention and encourage them to use their imagination when searching for all the various animals and objects offered. Not only are the cards themselves brightly illustrated, but they are study and durable when being tossed around between two toddlers. The 20 cards are held together on a plastic ring that I can easily attach to the stroller, wagon, or even car seats, diaper bag, or my purse.
