I’m sure you’ve caught onto the fact that I love putting together sensory bins for the kids. They are so easy and have endless possibilities. The open-ended play they provide encourages kids of all ages to explore with their hands and use their imagination and creativity. So when planning out some Dr. Seuss themed activities for this week, there was no way I wasn’t going to include a sensory bin!
The possibilities for this bin are truly endless. Ours is pretty simple and I used stuff we already had in the house with a few homemade additions.
- Bin with a lid
- rice or sand
- plastic straws
- toy fish
- pipe cleaners
- pom poms
- popsicle sticks
- scoops and small cups
- Throw your rice or sand into the bin.
- Add any and all toys and scoops you want.
- Enjoy your hot coffee while your little one explores and plays!
There are so many ways to set up this bin. You can use themes of individual books, you could go with a few different books, you can go with a certain character, it’s really up to you how you want to put it together! I hope that ours gives you a little inspiration for whatever you decide to do and I cannot wait to see how yours come out!
